Park Circus Films is joining Film Distributors’ Association (FDA), the trade body for UK theatrical distributors, with immediate effect.
Glasgow-based Park Circus, the UK’s only commercial distributor specialising in the acquisition and distribution of classic films, is the 18th current FDA member and one of twelve independent distributors represented on FDA’s Council. Overall the association accounts for 96% of its sector by market share.
Park Circus co-founder and joint-managing director, Nick Varley said:
“As the UK market develops and digital delivery becomes more widespread, we believe there’s an important opportunity for young and old audiences alike to experience classic films restored to their finest on the big screen. We felt this was the right time for us to join the trade association, where the generic issues affecting our sector and shaping the industry may be debated.”
FDA chief executive, Mark Batey said:
“Park Circus has quickly become synonymous with quality classic films and continues to expand its services to rights holders and exhibitors. We salute Park Circus’s passionate commitment to growing today’s cinema audience and are sure its management team will make a strong contribution to FDA activities. We’re delighted to have them on board.”
